Welcome back to the 2014 edition of Douglas Blogs.  After about 9 months off, it is finally time to fire up the ol' Blogger for the fourth year.  Speaking of that, here are some tips that I have accumulated using Blogger: 1. Write a blog about something that you have a passion or interest in.  It makes it much easier...and you can always change the topic, as I did back in 2012. 2. Make your blog look sleek yet inviting.   You want a design that is clean and easy to read that still features your pictures and other multimedia. 3. Don't just use your blog....create a comprehensive online profile across many social networks.  I personally like Blogger's built-in Google+ and YouTube integration. 4.  Blogger's URL system isn't that great for readers to remember.  Try creating a shortened link. 5. Stick with it.  As I begin my fourth year blogging, I know that the road ahead could not be as fulfilling as I may want it to be, but that's okay. ...

What is there to say?  I am back to the (public) internet with tons of new content this summer.  With your help, I'm going to hit the Internet like a storm. Starting June 5th (yesterday), the schedule goes as follows: Mondays: New Vlog Prepare to see my thoughts in a video form, uploaded to YouTube . Tuesdays: New Blog Post Come see my expanded talk, in text form, on this blog . Wednesdays: Hangout Party (1st/3rd), SimCity Live (2nd/4th) On the first and third Wednesdays of the month, be part of a Google Plus Hangout Party. The opposite Wednesdays, I'll be playing SimCity live on Twitch while answering Twitter questions.  Times are TBD. Thursdays: New Blog Post Fridays: New Vlog In addition, I'll be liveblogging/livestreaming major tech announcements and Wisconsin severe weather events all summer long! As September 1st is just hours away, I'd like you all to know that its been a lot of fun working on this blog this summer.  No, I'm not leaving or discontinuing the blog.  (More readers would be nice, though.)I might get some of my friends to start authoring here, actually.  Its just that with school taking up 90% of my day, the blog won't get as much action as in August. (37 posts?!?)  Content will get posted, but just not as fast.  I'm aiming for 5 posts a week. Vortex Day, 9/10/111, is quickly approaching.  Nerf's Facebook Page still has the countdown, and I captured a really neat pic of it today.  Can't wait. Also, this blog has been running since May 30th.  3 months!  I'm planning on doing something for the 100th day. Happy Nerfing!
