At noon yesterday, Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference with a keynote where they talked about a few key products.  My video above quickly goes over most of them.  If you're interested in more info, keep reading... OS X Mavericks Apple is steering away from a cat name for OS X (10.9) Mavericks.  The update, mostly likely to be $20, includes synced notifications, App Nap along with other performance and power saving features, along with new desktop apps of Maps, iBooks, and iWork with iCloud (also available on PC).  Better multiple display options and file tagging is also new.  It is releasing this fall. Read more at: http://www.apple.com/osx/preview Personally, I've never used OS X beyond what is required at school, so I cannot form any major opions on Mavericks.  I will say, however, that this appears to be a minor upgrade (vs iOS 7-see below). BACK IN 2012 Since 2010, US cell carriers have been working on building next-gen, faster data networks.  In the start, Sprint bet on WiMax technology, while Verizon went for LTE.  AT&T and T-Mobile worked on HSPA+ (which is technically super-fast 3G).  Fast forward to 2012, and the "Big Three" have 4G LTE networks, and even regional carriers are getting into the fast lane.  For a large portion of Americans, these networks are at their disposal...but rural customers are still in a waiting game. I've mentioned before that I live in North-Central Wisconsin and I happen to live within "cell coverage distance" of Highway 29, a main highway connecting Green Bay, Wausau, Eau Claire, and eventually the Twin Cities.  This is a main corridor, and so cell coverage is easy to come by nearby.  By that I mean that Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint have networks along it...T-Mobile has no network at all  built beyo...

Over the weekend, Tvviltter.com has been scamming user's passwords by way of personal direct messages. The way this is happening is that the user is send a DM from one of their followers saying something such as " Hi some person is making very bad things about you..." then with a bit.ly link afterwords. Just fresh out from Google, their newest mobile operating system, Android 4.1 Jellybean, is starting to become available on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ via OTA update.  The CDMA Galaxy Nexuses, Nexus S, and Motorola Xoom will be getting this update within the next week, most likely.  Plus the Nexus7 will be shipping with 4.1 within the next two weeks. *Today, I'm going to start my at-least daily postings.* As I got up and went downstairs this morning, my sister (as always) wanted me to sit at the couch and watch  Nick with her for a few minutes.  If you didn't already know, we live in the country and so our TV provider is DirecTV.  As Spongebob was finishing up, two crawls came across the screen.  Both basically stating the same news, but in different perspectives.  The top one, ran by Nick's parent company, Viacom, stated that DirecTV costumers would lose all Viacom networks (26) if they did not call up DirecTV and yell at them.  The bottom one, ran by DirecTV, stated that Viacom was wanting a 30% price increase, and that this was not right.   It's an emergency!  HAHA!

Hey everyone it is Douglas, and this blog that I started in May 2011 and ended in December is coming back!  I have a lot to tell about, including the new URL, name, and content. If you didn't know, I starting a vlog (video blog) series on Youtube (on my original channel) called DougASchu Vlogs.  Since May, I've been making videos about Nerf, Tech, and Weather...my three main interest areas.  In late June and early July, my videos became a weekday routine.  They are a lot of fun, but also a LOT of work to make.  It takes about four hours per vlog between researching, filming, editing, and uploading the day's video.  That kind of schedule only works in early summer when I have quite a bit of free time.
